Kindergarten Graduation

I cannot believe that Connor graduated from Kindergarten! It seems like yesterday we were dropping him off for his first day. He has had an awesome year with an awesome teacher. He is reading so well and I am excited to help him over the summer get even better. I loved the library when I was little (still do) and we plan on spending a good bit of time there this summer. It is so neat to see how much he has changed over the past 10months physically and mentally. I am so very proud of him. Now on to First Grade!

How Time Flies!

As you can see I have been terrible about blogging. It has been quite hectic around here, but things are finally settling down. Instead of writing a long post I decided to to a "bullet post" to get caught up!

• Valentine's Day came and went. We got the boys something small and they got cards in the mail from family. They both got McDonald's gift cards which were the biggest hit! Ronnie and I do not really celebrate because my birthday is close to the end of February and we always go out of town.
• The boys both visited the dentist. Neither one had any cavities, yea! Cooper has fallen at some point and we are watching one tooth to see if it may need to come out. I am hoping not because it is his front tooth. Connor also has one baby tooth that does not have a permanent tooth to replace it so we will watch it and hope the baby tooth will last a long time. When and if it does need to come out he will have to have an implant, all I could think was $$$!!
• I officially became a stay at home Mommy!! This was probably the biggest highlight of the month for me! We have waited so long for me to be able to stay home. I am adjusting right now to being home and getting on a routine with Cooper. He is still going to MDO one day a week for me to accomplish things without little hands helping. I am so thankful I have a husband who understands the importance of me being home with our boys. 
• My cousin had a sweet baby girl on February 24th. We visited this past weekend and she is so sweet! The boys thought she was great and to my surprise held her very gently. I just love new babies!
• My birthday was 2/25! Nana and Pop came to stay with the boys so Mommy and Daddy could get away. We went to Stone Mountain and had a great time. We always stay in the same hotel (which happens to have a spa!) and it was so nice to just be together. Ronnie always splurges on me and this year I got a sewing/embroidery machine. I was so excited and have been learning how to use it. I am hoping that my dream of having a business from home will now be reality. I love making things and have hopefully found my niche appliqueing/monogramming. I hope that this is something that I can grow. Stay tuned for details!
• Connor's school did something special for Dr. Seuss' birthday by dressing up differently every day last week. He had so much fun! I will post pictures soon.

100th Day of School

Connor's 100th day of Kindergarten was Tuesday. I am a terrible Mommy for not getting a picture but unfortunately our day did not start off great. However, when he got home he was so anxious to tell me about it so here are the snippets! (I did not attempt a picture then either because he fell at school and was filthy, ha!)

• He took 100 jelly beans to school. They all got to see what each other brought and do fun things with them.
• His teacher (who is awesome by the way!) dressed up as an old lady. It was so funny because she had convinced them her "Aunt Bea" would be there and she wouldn't. Connor said he recognized her because when she talked it sounded just like her.
• He wore funny glasses.
• He made a hat that had colorful paper on it.
• He did a few worksheets about 100 things.
• He said the other teachers were dressed up too and they all looked funny!

If you have a little one sometimes they give you all the details and sometimes they give you just enough, he gave me just enough!

Connor Turns 6!

Connor turned 6 on 1-4-12! I cannot believe that he is already 6! I remember like it was yesterday that he was born and made me a Mommy for the first time! We started the day with a scavenger hunt to find his presents we got him. He got Skylander's for the XBox for Christmas and was wanting more of those. We wrapped them and placed them all over the house in places we knew he would "visit" before school. He had a great time searching. Then Ronnie and I surprised him at school to eat lunch with him and have cupcakes with his class.

After they had cupcakes we checked him out and spent the rest of the day with him. We have started a new tradition of taking him somewhere to eat for his birthday and he picked the peanut place (Logan's). We had a great time and they even announced it was his birthday and gave him a big Yeeee-Hawwww! He was a little embarrassed. After a full day of celebrating we headed home to bed!

Connor also decided to not have a big birthday party this year. He only wanted two his his buddies to come over and spend the night. One was able to come and unfortunately the stomach bug did not allow for his other buddy to make it. He was disappointed but in the end he had a great time! Finally Feels Fallish!!

I love this time of year! Especially when we can get outside every afternoon and play without getting sooo hot. The boys have enjoyed it so much! I'm also excited because the fair is in town at my parents and we are going to spend a few days there and take the boys. We have not been home in a while and are anticipating going. Unfortunately Daddy has to stay home and work while we are gone.

I am a newly converted Auburn fan (thanks to my hubby!) and they have had an okay season so far. This weekend they play Arkansas and we are hoping they get a win. War Eagle!!

Connor had his Fall Festival last night and the highlight of the night was colored hair! He had such a great time. Cooper was not very cooperative so no picture of him to post.

Hillbilly Dress-Up

Connor had an author visit at school the other day and had to dress-up like a hillbilly. We found some overalls, a thermal shirt, hat and painted his tooth black. Here is his picture!

He had a great day and I loved hearing about what his friends looked like. His black tooth was a big hit! The author was Chester Drawers and he has some really neat books. They sang and read which made for a fun day at school.
