Their Poor Eyes

For my readers who know me well you know that Ronnie has an eye disease called corneal lattice dystrophy and that we got confirmation last summer Connor has it. Corneal lattice dystrophy effects the cornea, it basically does what its name is. Over time a buildup will occur in the cornea that resembles lattice. Ronnie has dealt with it his whole life and in October 2010 underwent a cornea transplant. This is the only way to "fix it" but the catch is that the disease will eventually come back in the new one. Ronnie dealt with many days/weeks as a little boy in which he had to stay in a dark room if his eye ever got poked or something in it. Cooper will probably have it and the eye injury he sustained this week confirms to us that he does, although we haven't taken him to an eye doctor yet. Wednesday Connor poked Cooper in the eye and he has not been able to open it or really be in bright settings because it is so sensitive. It has been really rough on him because it hurts and there is not much we can do, other than put ointment on it, cover it with a patch and keep the rooms dark. For a very active almost three-year-old it has been rough around here! Ronnie has been off and has kept Cooper home and it is almost better but not quite there. So there is the story about their poor eyes. We have grown accustomed to it being part of our lives and will continue too!

Happy Anniversary!

Today the hubby and I celebrated 7 years of wedded bliss! He is an amazing man and I am so lucky that God put us together. We celebrated by going out of town for 3 wonderful nights without kiddos! My parents kept Connor and Cooper for us. They are the best parents a girls could ask for and even better grandparents to our boys. Hope everyone has a great week. My goal this week is to post with pictures....we'll see how I do!

Jury Duty and Father's Day

Oh boy! I am on jury duty this week and it is entertaining. I cannot go into details about the case but it is a doozy and kind of funny. Ronnie is off this week and home alone with all three boys! I am glad he is able to spend some time with them. But I am also secretly glad that he will get to walk a week in my shoes doing the day to day stuff I usually do. I am one lucky girl that he will sacrifice his vacation! I just hope that we will get to do the fun things we have planned.

Looking forward to Father's Day this weekend. I have an amazing husband, an amazing Dad and an amazing Papa that we get to celebrate. I may even try to make cupcakes that look like hamburgers and sugar cookies that look like fries. If so I will post pictures!

Changes....

So much has been going on since the last post. I had said I would get better about posting and I did not, but I truly hope to this time around. Connor started 4K this year and is loving it. He is such a sweet little boy. He enjoys going to school and learning. Cooper is going to MDO four days a week as well. I work there so they are both with me during the day which is wonderful.

Ronnie and I are wonderful. We went away in August for our 6th wedding anniversary to Marietta, GA and had a great weekend. I love the time we get to spend together without any kids or work distractions. He is having a cornea transplant on October 20th and we are praying that all goes well.

I cannot believe that Christmas will be here soon!

Trying to keep up....

It has now been about two months since my last post. Cooper will be 9 months on the 28th and Connor turned 4 on January 4th. We had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas and Birthday for Connor.

Here are some things going on around the Lanier house:

Cooper is eating like a horse and growing so fast. He is so fun right now and we love watching him explore everyday.

Connor is now 4. I cannot believe it! It seems like yesterday we brought him home from the hospital.

We were out of school for two weeks and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am working part-time but hope to become a full-time stay at home Mommy within the next year and a half! We are trying to pay off some debt. Another reason I am trying to blog more is to find blogs with coupon saving tips and things of that nature.

We have a surprise trip planned for Connor in February and cannot wait to tell him.

Cooper will be getting tubes in his ears on Jan 20th. He has had about 10 ear infections since he was 3 months old!

We are trying to stay warm like a lot of other people. It has been unusually cold the past couple of days.

Cooper Andrew Lanier...

arrived on April 28, 2009 at 7:48am. He was 9lbs 11oz and 20 and 1/2 inches long. We are all very excited. Connor is loving being a new big brother and we are adjusting well. More posts to come and pictures!!

So glad it is Friday...

It has been a long week for me. Ronnie has been home a lot at night this week which has been wonderful. I am starting to get to a point that it is hard to do everything I used to for Connor. But Connor loves having his Daddy do these things.

Ronnie leaves on Sunday to go to Orlando for a conference with his job, comes home Tuesday and leaves again on Thursday to be gone for 7 days. While he is there they are planning on going to Disney. I am soooo jealous because I want to go and take Connor, but being 7 months pregnant it is probably not the best idea. Ronnie has never been so it will also be an experience for him. He promised we would take Connor soon. Hopefully sometime next year.

We plan on staying home for the weekend except going to church on Sunday. I should be able to get a lot done that I have been putting off.

It has been a while....

I hope to get better about blogging. I follow a lot of blogs and wonder where they get the time to sit down and type. I have decided that I will try to update a least once a week. So here is my update for this week...

Ronnie and I went away last weekend without Connor. We had a wonderful time together. I am 6 months pregnant so this was our getaway before Cooper arrives. We are very excited and cannot wait to meet him. 

If you read my last blog then you know Connor was going to be moving to a new big boy room. Well, that has been an easy adjustment for him. I am just trying to get things for his walls. I have also gotten Connor 100% Potty-Trained!!!! It was my goal to have this done before the baby gets here and we did it. It took a little coercing but we did it. I am so proud of him.

We have also been working on the nursery and it is almost complete. We are having company in two weeks and my goal was to have it finished before they came. We have a few small areas to touch up with paint (on the ceiling) and I need frames for some prints I am going to hang. 

Well, that is about all for now. I will try to post some pictures of everything we have been working on.

Exciting News...

As most of you know we are expecting another baby. I am due May 4, 2009. We found out on Tuesday that Connor will be getting a baby brother. We are very excited. Connor understands that we are getting a baby but does not care that it is a boy. Here is our conversation:

Me: Connor you are going to have a little brother.

Connor: No Mom, we are just getting a baby.

Me: I know, but we are having a baby boy. Isn't that good.

Connor: Mom, I just want a baby.

He is too funny. We are also going to be moving Connor into a bigger room (he has way to much stuff). I am a little nervous about this because I do not want Connor to think that we are pushing him out of his room. We have decided that we are going to make a big deal out of him getting a new room so hopefully he will not have a hard time adjusting.
